Why Not Teachers?
In today's field of public education, there is
a visable battleground for the next generation. It will take fearless Christians, to rise up and speak LIFE into
the next generation. We can no longer afford to behave as though governmental mandates on what can and cannot be spoken within
the public schools leave us powerless and speechless. God has filled us with His Spirit to teach. The Holy Spirit is the
Christian teacher's teacher, counselor, and guide. God has already given us His standard to live by. His Spirit
gives us wisdom and vision for our students. It would be a monumental loss for us to avoid speaking His truth in order
to go along to get along with the current educational system. Teacher's are being retalianted against, bullied, pressured,
intimidated and isolated resulting in nervious break downs, resignations, classroom melt downs, and ultimately loosing their
retirement and benefits. Because of fear, teachers are not reporting child abuse, inappropriate behavior by students
and administrators. They are in fear of loosing their contracts, being singled out and made an example of in front of
their peers. Parents and teachers are afraid to take a stand on some campus' and supress their voice as to what they
know is right. Teachers are afraid to teach with Christian integrity in our schools. One of the best ways we can do
this is by actively taking spiritual authority over our classrooms. Join together and not allow a Christian teacher
become isolated on her campus. The TIME TO BE BRAVE is NOW.
Teachers in general can no longer be content with passively enduring
the brunt of an educational system that has universally elevated the signif- icance of test scores above the value of passionate,
meaningful teaching. This is not acceptable. It's time to shed ourselves of our laissez-faire attitude of "not interfering"
with the counterproductive priorities of our public school system. There
is a strategy to eliminate God from our country and from our schools. It's painful to watch our students
struggle to understand their lessons and even to get along with one another, all because God is being shoved out the back
door. But as Christians, we CAN make a difference.
IT IS TIME for a radical change in our thinking regarding how
we can integrate our faith into the public school classroom with courage and integrity. It is time to put on the full
armor of God and aggressively defend our classrooms against the spiritual attacks going on around us every day of the week. The evidence of this warfare in the educational system can be seen in the oppressive atmospheres
dominating so many public schools today. Most outsiders assume that the intimidation and hostility is coming predominantly
from the students. But this is not so. Neither is such antagonism necessary. Yet if we do what we've always done, we'll get what we've always gotten. We can no longer afford to be complacent.
If we're going to preach personal responsibility to our students, we'd better be prepared to practice it in the domain of
our classrooms and schools. "Elephants in the Classroom" will address many critical issues that are usually ignored or silenced
within the public schools. You will learn ways in which you can "take back the classroom" for God's purposes.
Your calling as a teacher will be affirmed and reinforced. Your courage to make changes will be strengthened. Your resourcefulness
in promoting God's presence in your classroom will be expanded. Come and be blessed.
Study Groups and Workshops
T.W.O. -
invites all Teachers to join us of appreciation, support and empowerment.
God has called, equipped
and assigned Christians to teach. For those who are called to teach there are time when you need to unite with other Christians.
You are not alone. Just as you need to be connected to the body of Christ, you also need to be connected to the part
of the body which brings about the most impact. If you are a finger you need to be connected to the hand, not the neck. God has an order to all things, especially in the body of Christ.
He has appointed five annointed positions in the Church, one is a Teacher. The other four: Ministers, Evangelists, Prophets,
and Apostles. As the man on the road asked the Philip, How
can I understand if there is no teacher. Acts 8:26-40
For ages, an identifiable strategy has been activated to control what is taught and who teaches it. As a Christian,
we know longer can afford to be asleep as to the strategy being placed in every classroom, every school and every district.
We must be united in supporting teachers to teach! And for Christian teachers to take authority over thier classroom
and the future of education.
T.W.O. is dedicated to bringing hope, help, and healing to women and men who desire to identify, embrace, and walk out God's
calling on their lives. T.W.O. is commited to helping teachers in transition
while discovering God's plan for their lives. T.W.O. understands that the teacher's future will be different
than what she/he is living now.
T.W.O. provides support
to teachers who are struggling with disruptive and demoralizing issues in their classroom or on their campus T.W.O. offers intervention in addressing
and resolving physical and mental health issues, and educated teachers regarding their rights in the classroom.
